In a statement on Sept 16, Ms. Lewis, ACORN CEO, ordered “an immediate in-service training for all frontline staff.”
I think all ACORN frontline staff has probably received quite enough training on not what to do just by watching the news, and the YouTube video. I’d like to have been a fly on the wall just to know what they trained, but am afraid that I’d fall off the wall from sheer boredom.
One hopes that whatever the training, it would be summed up in one statement: “If you believe that either you or your client could be breaking the law, get a second opinion before continuing.” One hopes that the remainder of the training would be scenario-based, with both positive and negative examples of people coming in with questions, propositions, etc. And then, one would hope that each scenario would be followed up with a discussion of what went right, and what went wrong.
However, with the knee-jerk reaction of training everyone within 48 hours, I imagine the worst…
