An Olympic Observation

There’s nothing like an Olympics to give trainers sports metaphors and compelling analogies to use in the classroom. So I’ve been getting caught up in the drama that is the Winter Olympics with the rest of the world.

While watching a medal ceremony, I noticed:

Just getting on the Olympic medal podium is a considerable feat, worthy of a great deal of honour, praise, and accolades.  The gold medal winners embody the highest level of that achievement —  the best of what, in most cases, is a cadre of remarkably incredible athletes.  To receive that honour, they have to bow the deepest.
